Reflexology

Reflexology is a popular, relaxing holistic treatment and is a method of activating the healing powers of the body.    Reflex points on the soles, tops and sides of the feet connect to corresponding areas throughout the body.  The aim is to balance the body naturally and correct any imbalances.

 

It is only necessary to remove shoes and socks for the treatment, during which feet will be cleansed and massaged using special techniques.  The areas treated and pressure applied will be adapted to suit your individual needs.  Treatments usually take about an hour, although the first treatment will take a little longer, as a full consultation will be taken, including various questions about your health and lifestyle, to ensure reflexology is right for you.

 

Reflexology can help to relieve anxiety and tension, encourage relaxation, improve mood and aid sleep, though some people use it to help them cope with more specific health challenges. Reflexology is often used alongside conventional care in hospices, hospitals and other healthcare settings, to help support patients with a variety of conditions.

After the first treatment or two, your body may respond in a very definite way; you may have a feeling of well-being and relaxation; or you may feel lethargic or tearful, but this is transitory.  It is however, vital information for Reflexologists as it shows how your body is responding to treatment.  

 

Reflexology is a lovely treatment which balances whole body systems, promotes natural healing processes and aids relaxation and wellbeing.
